Overlake Imaging Associates’ roots go back to the 1950s when a small private practice called Wallace-Harms Radiology opened its doors in downtown Bellevue. As the community grew, so did the practice. Through expansion, mergers and name changes, the group became Bellevue Radiology, then Eastside Radiology and finally Overlake Imaging Associates, P.C. Our connection to Overlake Hospital Medical Center and the surrounding Eastside medical community is equally well grounded. One of our predecessor organizations has served as the consulting radiology group for the hospital since it opened in 1960. OIA also provides full time professional radiology interpretations for Washington Imaging Services, LLC.—a state-of-the-art medical imaging provider with outpatient offices in Bellevue and Issaquah. Additionally, OIA radiologists provide outside interpretive reads for a variety of private practice medical groups and clinics, including: Overlake Internal Medicine Associates, Pediatric Associates, Snoqualmie Valley Clinic, Snoqualmie Ridge Clinic and Overlake Urgent Care. Along the way to becoming the Eastside’s oldest and most referred radiology practice, we’ve witnessed radical changes in our field. The x-ray and fluoroscopy-based patient studies of the Wallace-Harms era have given way to a new standard of visualization and diagnosis. Today, using advanced imaging technology such as PET/CT, multi-detector CT and MRI, OIA radiologists are able to visualize internal anatomy and function in exquisite detail. That allows us to identify abnormalities and diseases, or the lack of them, faster and more accurately than ever before—so patients and their physicians have the information needed to optimize treatment and care. Technological advancements in imaging and the growth of interventional procedures based on image-guidance are simply revolutionizing medicine. These advancements demand subspecialty expertise on the part of the radiologist for selection of proper technique and meaningful interpretation. Accordingly, OIA has grown our practice to include thirteen board certified radiologists who are fellowship-trained subspecialists in eight areas. The quality, depth and professionalism of our practice offers patients and physicians the best of compassionate care interpreted through the lens of the most advanced 21st century radiological techniques. |
