It takes many years of education and training to become a radiologist. The process starts with 4 years of college plus 4 years of medical school to earn an MD degree. This is followed by a 1 year internship and 4 years of residency in a specialty area. Many radiologists then enter a 1 to 2 year fellowship in a subspecialty area such as pediatric or musculoskeletal radiology. This post-medical school training in radiation safety and the interpretation of medical imaging is rare in other medical specialties.

The board certified radiologists of Overlake Imaging Associates (OIA) have leading-edge expertise in all areas of radiology with additional training in a wide array of medical imaging specialties. Our physicians are highly skilled professionals who have studied at prestigious medical institutions, and have met the rigorous standards of major radiology residency programs and subspecialty training.

All of the OIA staff work collaboratively and continuously educate themselves about the newest developments in their specialties. Working together allows the doctors to consult each other easily, offering patients and referring physicians the advantage of their cumulative experience.
